Jumpstart Your New Year and Training on Sunday, January 7

Can you believe the New Year is almost here? Time to get moving and start training! Help us to mark the start of the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon training season and officially kick off our 10th Anniversary year with the annual Marathon Kickoff Training RunDue to subzero wind chills forecast for Saturday, January 6, the Marathon Kickoff Training Run has been rescheduled for Sunday, January 7.
You do NOT need to be registered for a 2018 event to participate in this training run. As a matter of fact, you can sign up for any DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon event at the run. Anyone who registers that day will receive a special bonus!
Check in will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the run starts at noon. Steel City Road Runners will lead training runs of several distances (four, six and eight miles) at various paces. There will also be a five-mile option for those following the Galloway Training Program.
We will have post-run snacks and refreshments, a pop-up P3R gear store with special pricing, and FREE 10th anniversary commemorative yard signs for the first 250 runners. Additionally, our sponsors DICK'S Sporting Goods and Brooks Running are teaming up to offer some exciting activities! They will have a heated tent where runners can enjoy light refreshments, foam rolling, fun photo opportunities, prizes and more.

Supporting sponsors UPMC Sports MedicineGNC Live Well and NuGo Nutrition will be onsite with information and much more. And don't forget to stop by the P3R tent to pick up FREE samples and goodies from UPMC Health PlanRachael Ray Nutrish and Honey Stinger.

The Marathon Kickoff Training Run will be held at Riverfront Place located at 810 River Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15212. Limited FREE parking is available onsite, so please carpool if you can.
