If you choose to fundraise for one of our official charities, you will be eligible for a refund on your registration fee (essentially earning a FREE registration!) In order to receive a refund, you must raise a minimum amount of money for the organization you selected. Fundraising minimums vary by event and can be found here. If you do not reach the minimum, you will not be eligible for a refund.

How to Run For Charity

Step 1:  Go to https://raceroster.com/events/2020/24250/2020-dicks-sporting-goods-pittsburgh-marathon-weekend.

Step 2: Click on the “Register” button.



Step 3: Select which event you want to run.

Step 4: Begin filling out your information in the "Personal Information" section. After the "Emergency Contact Info" section, you will reach the "Charity Runners Run For Free" section. Here, you will select Yes as the answer to the "Would you like to participate as a charity runner and run for free?" question. This will prompt a drop-down list of all of our official charities to pick from. Select the charity you wish to run for.


Step 5: Complete the rest of the registration process and pay. There is still one more step to take to confirm your fundraising page links to the charity you selected. Upon completion, you will receive several emails. Please view the email from runforareason@p3r.org with the subject "Charity Runner — You Still Have One More Step To Take!".

Step 6: In the email, you will receive a custom link to your fundraising page. Click on the link and select "Edit fundraising page".



Step 6: Select the preferred charity that you want to fundraise for in the drop-down menu. You can also customize your page in this step by adding a fundraising goal, entering a story and posting a picture.


 

Step 7: After saving this information, you're all set! You can begin sharing your page with others and collect donations!


Didn't receive an email with your fundraising page link?

You can log in to your Race Roster account and edit your page. Once you are logged in, visit your Dashboard and select "Edit page" on the right-hand side of the page. From there, you are able to select the preferred charity that you want to fundraise for in the drop-down menu.
