Half Marathon Kickoff Training Run

Training for the UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon is in full swing. Jump-start your training for the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend of events with the annual Half Marathon Kickoff Training Run hosted by P3R and the Steel City Road Runners on Saturday, February 8, 2020.

Location: UPMC Rooney Sports Complex - 3200 South Water Street Pittsburgh
Distances: 4, 6, 9 and 12 mile loops will be available to accommodate all training plans, along with a 5-mile option for the Galloway Training Program. Various paces will be offered.

Schedule:
7:00 AM — Check-in begins
8:15 AM — Dynamic warm-up
8:30 AM — Run begins

Post-run refreshments: Bananas, Honey Stinger gels, water and Nuun Hydration will be provided post-run.

Parking: Please note, there is very limited parking at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. Additional parking can be found in any of the Southside Works surface parking lots or garages, with a short warm-up walk over to the facility. There will be signs and volunteers helping direct people. Southside Works parking information can be found here.

Route Maps
Maps are available for all distances on RunGo. RunGo is a mobile app that offers runners the opportunity to be hands-free and paper-free while on a training run. Use your earbuds or phone to hear the directions. The turn-by-turn cues can also be displayed on Apple Watches so that no sound is required. No data is needed if you download the route ahead of time. RunGo tracks distance and pace, but we encourage the use of a running watch or another running app to track this data.
