Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. (P3R), one of the nation’s premier endurance organizations, is excited to announce an expanded partnership with Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh, a family-owned and privately held restaurant company devoted to serving local communities. Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh will serve as the new title partner of the Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon, as well as the presenting partner of Kids of STEEL, a physical activity and nutrition program for children throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania.
 
“Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh is thrilled to play a much larger role in the Pittsburgh Marathon weekend of events as the title partner of the Kids Marathon and Kids of STEEL program,” said Joslynn Tatterson, Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Area Marketing Director. “Chick-fil-A’s founder, Truett Cathy, had a passionate belief in the unlimited potential of every child. That’s why we work with programs like Kids of STEEL, whose mission to motivate children to pursue quality nutrition and an active lifestyle directly aligns with Chick-fil-A’s goal to positively impact the communities in which we live and work.”
 
To share the news of the expanded partnership with children and their parents, Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh and P3R will host a celebratory event at Chick-fil-A McKnight Road on Oct. 2 to coincide with the observance of National Child Health Day on Oct. 1.
 
Children and their parents can visit the restaurant any time from 5-7 p.m. on Oct. 2 for the chance to win great prizes from both Chick-fil-A and P3R, meet and take photos with the Chick-fil-A cow mascot in full running gear, and learn more about the Kids of STEEL program and how families can get involved. The first 100 children who attend the event will receive:
 
  • A FREE Chick-fil-A 24 oz. PET water bottle;
  • Two (2) promotional cards good for choice of a Chick-fil-A® chicken sandwich or Chick-fil-A® chicken nuggets (eight count); and
  • Two (2) promotional cards good for choice of one FREE Chick-fil-A® dessert variety item.
“We’re grateful to Chick-fil-A for their support and are thrilled they share our commitment to inspiring the next generation of runners throughout the Pittsburgh region,” said Troy Schooley, P3R’s Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Sales. “More than 6,500 students from over 130 schools in the tristate area have participated in the Pittsburgh Kids Marathon in 2018, and we aim to grow that number in 2019 and reach even more local students with our new Kids Marathon title partner.”
