The Run For A Reason Charity Program presented by Bank of America is for passionate runners like you who want to make a difference and change lives. Connect your passion with purpose and commit to fundraise for a meaningful cause close to your heart.
Why Run For Charity?
By choosing to Run For A Reason, you will be a part of something greater than yourself, make an impact on those around you, and create lifelong memories with “teammates” who become “family." Let’s face it — there’s no better feeling than crossing the finish line and knowing that those miles counted for MORE! It’s time to connect passion with purpose and Run For A Reason in 2019.
How It Works
Choose from one our 37 official charities to fundraise for during the 2019 marathon season. Each charity sets its own fundraising minimum* that you must reach to earn your FREE race entry. Visit our CrowdRise page to register for an official charity of your choice. For step-by-step instructions on signing up as a charity runner, view our race guide.
*You will be asked to provide a credit card number; however, you will not be charged unless you do not meet the minimum fundraising requirement as established by the charity of your choice by the fundraising closure date (set by each charity and typically at the end of May).
Fundraising For A Charity Not Listed
If you are a passionate individual interested in running for a charity that is not listed as one of our 37 official charities, please view our CrowdRise page to see the additional organizations participating as contributing charities. If you want to fundraise for a contributing charity, you will not receive a free registration and will have to purchase one separately on Race Roster.
If you are a non-profit organization interested in joining the Run For A Reason Charity Program, please apply below as a contributing charity. Contributing charities are traditionally new or first-time participants of the charity program, and are recognized for their fundraising efforts and are a crucial part of the giving community. Race entries are not included and entries must be purchased separately from creating a fundraising page. For more information about contributing and official charities, please click here.
Since the Run For A Reason Charity Program presented by Bank of America started in 2009, over $12 million has been raised by tens of thousands of runners for more than 100 different local, national and global charities.
