EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler Announces The North Face as Official Apparel Sponsor

Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. (P3R) announced that The North Face has been named the official apparel sponsor of the 2nd EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler. As part of the partnership, each participant of the event will receive a long-sleeve The North Face tech tee.

The event scheduled for Sunday, November 9 expects to have more than 6,000 participants and will offer a $15,500 prize purse.

Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. Sponsors Team USA Minnesota

Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. (P3R), the organizers of the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon and other world-class running events, will continue its commitment to supporting American athletes by sponsoring Team USA Minnesota.

The support of the post-collegiate distance training center is the newest initiative of P3R’s American Development Program. Launched in 2014, the Program is designed to increase exposure and racing opportunities for emerging American professional runners. The sponsorship will assist Team USA Minnesota in covering the costs of coaching, stipends and travel expenses for team members.

EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler 2014 Announces $15,500 Prize Purse

The EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler returns on Sunday, November 9 with a guaranteed prize purse of $15,500, including new American-only bonuses totaling $5000 as part of the inaugural American Development Program. Each race champion of this second annual fall event will take home $2500, while the top four U.S. men and women finishers will be eligible for additional bonus money.

GNC Live Well Liberty Mile Champion Heather Kampf Returns to Steel City

The 2014 GNC Live Well Liberty Mile returns to downtown Pittsburgh on Friday evening, August 1 with two-time defending champion Heather Kampf of Team USA Minnesota. Featuring a new American Development Program Pro Mile at the third edition of the race, professionals will compete for $20,000 in guaranteed prize money with each race champion taking home with $4,000.

Santucci, Burka Win DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Titles

At the 6th DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon on Sunday morning, Clara Santucci of Dilliner, PA and Gebo Burka of Ethiopia won race titles in convincing fashion, clocking 2 hours, 32, minutes, 25 seconds and 2:16:30 respectively. In the UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon Kenyan Sophy Jepchirchir shattered the event record with her 1:11:37, while Ethiopian Hebtamu Assefa won a close race in 1:02:45. Under calm, overcast conditions with a light drizzle early, an event record 23,458 marathoners and half-marathoners and 1,250 FedEx Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay teams raced through downtown Pittsburgh and 13 neighborhoods.

Athletes who earn the Trials “A” qualifying standard will receive $1500, and athletes who earn the “B” qualifying standard will receive $500.
